Qt World Summit 2016 Kicks Off

600 Participants from 25 countries

A truly cross-industry event, The Qt World Summit 2016 brings together some 600 attendees from 25 countries.  Thought leaders, developers, project managers and other members of the Qt global community will engage, learn and share the very latest happening in and around Qt.

This year’s event will feature an opening keynote by Kevin Kelly, Maverick at Large author, and founding member of WIRED Magazine. Kevin will focus on the ever-growing impact IoT has and will continue to have on our everyday lives. NASA Scientist Stephen Casner will discuss the intricacies and challenges of striking the balance between human effort and technological automation in his keynote speech. Josh Clark, UX strategist and author at Big Medium, will delve into why designing for the IoT is challenging the imagination of developers. AMD’s Andrej Zdravkovic will share details on how AMD used Qt technology to introduce a brand new user experience and interface for their graphics control panel. Finally, Lars Knoll, The Qt Company CTO and The Qt Project Chief Maintainer, will give you a sneak peek into Qt’s technology road map, including details on the Qt Lite Project.

The future is written with Qt

In addition to the keynote speeches, Qt World Summit 2016 will offer a wide range of sessions covering everything from technology strategy and product lifecycle management (PLM) to in-depth technical talks, best practices and live coding sessions – all presented by Qt developers and industry experts from all around the world. There will be five tracks covering the automotive industry, medical, and the Internet of Things (IoT) among others. Participants will also be able to experience first-hand product demos and presentations in the Qt Garage.

Additionally, participants will catch the latest details about the upcoming 5.8 release and the much-anticipated Qt Lite Project – which allows developers to embrace the opportunities The Internet of Things is bringing by targeting a wider range of hardware platforms than ever before with Qt.
