Qt Showcases IndustryLeading Automotive Solutions at CES 2019

New Enhanced Automotive Offering Enables OEMs to Create World-Class Graphic Interfaces While Utilizing Qt’s Toolchain for All Major Platforms

Espoo, Finland – January 3, 2019 – The Qt Company introduces Qt Automotive Suite 5.12 to substantially simplify the creation of innovative and user-friendly multi-screen solutions for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier 1 suppliers. Qt Automotive Suite 5.12 will be available on January 8, and will be showcased at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), taking place in Las Vegas from January 8-11.

The Qt Automotive Suite enables fast, iterative development, all the way from the designer’s vision to target implementation. In doing so, the new offering solves the key challenges in HMI creation for digital cockpits in automobiles, including striking a balance between design, cost and performance, and delivering an immersive and consistent user experience in as little development time as possible. With the combination of world-class tooling, automotive-specific software components, and a highly optimized software framework for embedded devices, Qt helps developers solve these challenges and offers a unique end-to-end HMI solution within a single technology platform.

Today, many global top 10 OEMs and Tier 1s have selected Qt technology for their digital cockpits – scaling from simple low-end solutions to flagships with all possible innovation. Qt is constantly adding support for new platforms such as Android Automotive, and therefore Qt has been recently selected as a core technology for digital cockpits alongside with Android Automotive.

With Qt Automotive Suite 5.12, developers can quickly and easily integrate between IVI (in-vehicle infotainment) HMI and IVI backend across multiple platforms including GENIVI, AGL, QNX and Android. IVI user interfaces can be tested early, as Qt IVI provides backend simulation even before the real hardware is available. The new Qt Automotive Suite 5.12 also allows for full customization of the visual appearance of the final system, as well as significant flexibility in the design of core UI components.

“Digital cockpits are rapidly becoming one of the most integral and attractive elements of the connected and autonomous vehicles of tomorrow. In addition to gaining access to Qt’s world-class professional support services and large global community, Qt allows our customers to focus on innovating – which then reduces time-to-market,” said Katja Kumpulainen, SVP of Marketing at The Qt Company. “We are excited to be able to showcase a wide variety of customer and partner demos at CES 2019.”

Qt will showcase its CES 2019 demos at Suite 2010 in the Westgate Hotel and at Luxoft’s booth, #3107, in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center on January 8-11, 2019. The Qt Company’s partner and customer demos at CES 2019 include:

• The latest digital cockpit powered by the Qt Automotive Suite
• The photorealistic instrument clusters in 3D and 2D implemented by Qt 3D Studio and Design Studio
• Full or hybrid digital instrument cluster on extreme low-end devices (MCU)
• Partner demos from e.g. Luxoft, ICS, and Siili Solutions.
