During an enterprise-wide ALM and Team Foundation Server (TFS) implementation, SNS REAAL faced the challenge of finding a solution capable of creating a robust test automation layer which not only maintained the central repository and collaboration capabilities TFS provided, but also supported their Java-based applications.
The integration between the automated testing solution and TFS had to be seamless to maintain their goal of implementing a solution to support their entire application lifecycle. While Microsoft provides the ALM capabilities, CodedUI lacked the Java-based application testing support. The Microsoft Project team recommended froglogic’s Squish and its out-of-the-box TFS integration and Java automated GUI testing capabilities.
After careful consideration, SNS REAAL, chose Squish to fill its robust test automation layer requirements. Squish’s Eclipse-based IDE provided a created working environment for the Java developers, while TFS version control integration provided the central repository access needed to maintain the feedback and collaboration capabilities critical to SNS REAAL’s ALM implementation. The integration with Microsoft Test Manager (MTM) further solidified the end to end communication capabilities, aligning testing, automated testing and test results with requirements.
