Software Engineering Team Lead (AI/Web Technologies)

About the Job 

We seek a talented and motivated R&D manager with hands-on knowledge of Web Technologies to guide our team of professional software engineers working on full-stack web solutions. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical and managerial skills and shows a passion for driving impactful solutions that enhance our customer experience. 

You will guide and manage a still small but growing team of web developers all located in our office in Oulu. The team's mission is to create full-stack web solutions for internal and external use cases.  

You will create an inspiring team environment, facilitate an open and engaging communication culture, and support each member in achieving their goals. You also will represent the team towards other company functions and Qt customers, managing different projects in various stages.

You will: 

Leadership & Management 

• Lead and inspire a team, ensuring efficient task management and delivery 
• Oversee hiring processes, participate in candidate evaluations, and build a cohesive team 
• Conduct line management tasks, including performance reviews, mentoring, and team development 
• Collaborate with stakeholders and customers to ensure seamless integration of solutions 
• Organize and lead team meetings to align project goals and strategies 
• Own end-to-end development 

Technical Responsibilities  

• Project & implement full-stack solutions for instance for services around AI and LLMs 
• Take ownership of the quality and performance of the services 
• Provide a holistic project overview, ensuring alignment between technical and business objectives 
• Communicate with vendors and Qt customers, support other internal teams 

About you 

• Strong background and hands-on experience in modern web technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript) 
• Experience with Qt and QML is a plus 
• Experience or interest in AI technologies 
• Proven experience leading and managing teams, including task prioritization and team development 
• Understanding of agile methodologies and Scrum practices 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to balance technical and managerial responsibilities 
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders 
• Creative, adaptable, and innovative mindset 
• Ability to work independently while ensuring team collaboration and project alignment
