Product Manager, Demo-as-a-Product

About the role

Demos and Examples are an integral part of Qt's product offering, as it enables sales and teaches our customers about our tool offering. As a Product Manager (Demo-as-a-Product) you would take the responsibility of managing our demos and examples by ensuring that all requirements are considered, and all parties are in sync with what’s to happen.

In this role, you will be part of Qt's Product Management team and treat the demos and examples as if they were a product. This means identifying goals, KPIs and planning the GTM activities accordingly. You lead team scrums to define product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities and communicate with stakeholders throughout the project.

You will work closely with our product managers and business teams to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI and collaborate with internal and external contacts to analyze needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals. To be successful in this role, you should remain up to date on trends and best practices for agile project management.

You will

• Manage a product portfolio of demos, keep them market-relevant, and showcase our latest innovation to inspire prospects and customers by showcasing “the art of the possible” with Qt
• Own the life-cycle of a demo as a product by ensuring continuity according to the defined goals and KPIs set beforehand
• Have a design-oriented work process in collaboration with the Design Lead and each industry manager (automotive, embedded, mobile, learning, etc.)
• Work closely with a team of designers, technical artists, and developers and making sure all team members have what they need to proceed with their work
• Gather requirements from different parts of our organization, including customers’ needs through sales channels, new features coming from R&D, and strategic approaches from management
• Collect feedback about our tools from the task force members, and share it with R&D
• Build up a defined design-oriented process for starting every single demo and example, which goes from ideation, creation, and delivery
• Own the road-map for each demo and example we plan to have, ensuring everything is documented and communicated to stakeholders
• Ensure all tasks are documented and all the people in the demo task force have a defined work backlog
• Collaborate with marketing and industry managers for a defined GTM strategy involving our new demos and examples (including learning materials) and manage the production of hardware, logistics, and technical support to ensure we consistently high-quality demos both HW and SW at key events and in all regions
• Be the contact point for customers that desire to utilize our demos for custom projects, and support Qt Professional Services and R&D further on these needs
• Liason with partners and customers to build up a portfolio “lighthouse” showcase projects of what customers have achieved with Qt and ensure they co-promote with us

About You

• 5+ years of experience in product management
• In-depth knowledge of agile methodology for project management
• Understanding of business value related to features and functions
• Outstanding communication, presentation, and interaction skills
• Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholders
• Understanding of a design-driven process and prioritizing our user needs
• Experience in design-driven projects, by collaborating with designers
• High standards of quality for deliverables
