Axivion Suite 7.9 release

Elevating Security and Usability for Developers

We are pleased to announce the release of Axivion 7.9. It introduces new security-focused and user-friendly features to enhance the efficiency and quality of embedded software development. Notable additions to our architecture verification and static code analysis tool include extended CWE and CERT rules and a new plugin for Qt Creator users.

Meeting the Highest Security Standards

Continuos code analysis to adhere to strict industry standards forms the basis for further security qualifications and certifications of the software. Especially software meant for use in safety-critical environments - such as automotive, medical or industrial applications - needs to meet stringent security requirements. To help developers identify and address security vulnerabilities, the Axivion Suite 7.9 has incorporated additional CWE and CERT rules, adding to the already extensive rules available in the coding guideline checker.

Seamless Integration with Qt Creator

The new release continues the seamless blending of Axivion Suite into the Qt technology ecosystem. Developers who use Qt Creator as tool for cross-platform software development, will be able to benefit from a dedicated plugin. It will allow easy access to the results of the code analysis to review and track issues without needing to switch tools. The plugin will be available with the next Qt Creator release.

Enhanced QML Support

The latest version expands support for QML (Qt Modeling Language). Clone detection is now also available for QML projects. This allows developers to identify duplicated code at an early stage, prevent technical debt and improve the long-term code quality. Further enhancements for QML support are already planned for upcoming releases.

Further Highlights of the Axivion 7.9 Release

Other notable highlights of version 7.9 include:

  • Improved Single-Sign-On support
Axivion Suite already supports SSO for MS Entra. The new release not only improves on MS Entra support, it now also includes SSO support for IDE plugins, allowing the use of these plugins without the need to register again.
  • Optimized Architecture Verification Workflows
The set-up and editing for architecture verification, as well as evaluating architectural changes, has been further optimized. Gravis, Axivion's built-in modelling tool, has an improved display of multi-edges (edge bundling), and the architecture pipeline is now also included directly in Gravis.
    Axivion_7.9_AVPipline_Gravis
  • Support for Arm macOS on Apple Processors
Responding to the increasing demand, Axivion Suite now also supports Arm macOS on Apple processors.
  • Support for C# 12
As for improvements regarding compilers, Axivion now allows developers using C# 12 to fully leverage the code analysis capabilities with the latest release.
