Qt Online Installer and Qt Installer Framework 4.9.0 Released

We have released Qt Online Installer and Qt Installer Framework 4.9.0 today.

This version of the installer tools contains significant updates to user experience, making the installer and maintenance tool easier and more intuitive to use.

We have tweaked use flows to be more intuitive. Some of these changes are invisible, some of them directly affect the user. As an example, installation now defaults to targeting the desktop, instead of requiring selection from fully customizable selection of components.

We continue the evolution of the Qt brand across all the products and tools - and the icon of the installer / maintenance tool has now been updated accordingly.

We have taken telemetry into use to gain insight into the use of the tools, and enables us to take steps towards further improvements in the upcoming releases. Users are explicitly requested to grant permission to relay telemetry data to Qt.

The baseline Qt framework version used in the installation framework has been updated to 6.7.2.

Please view the changelog for a full list of fixes and other changes.
