You can upload your application and share it with team members through a simple web link. A web browser is all you need. No Qt, no Qt Design Studio. It can't get simpler than that.
One-Click Deployment on Android
Introducing Qt UI Viewer and device manager for dashing Android deployment
With the new device manager integrated into the new Run Dropdown, you can experience the power of rapid deployment and swift iterations in Android HMI development. Accelerate your development journey!
The combination of the Qt UI Viewer and Device Manager enables this one-stop deployment. Download the Qt UI Viewer from the Google Play Store or from here, and connect your Android device by IP through the Device Manager, ensuring both devices share the same network. Once your device is registered and active, you can run your project on Android hardware without needing Android Studio. If you have it installed, you can also use Android emulators by registering them as devices. Learn more about the Android UI Viewer here.
Configure your Design System from Figma
Introducing support for Design System tooling
We're continuing our journey of supporting Figma Variables. In our previous 4.6 release, we introduced the capability to import and edit Figma variables into Qt Design Studio. You can import the variables table together with the Figma project to transfer all the theming and variant management from Figma to Qt Design Studio. When imported, UI elements will be connected to the design system as property bindings. In version 4.7, we introduce a visual editor for viewing and editing imported Design Systems. This feature is still in beta and can be enabled via Views > Design System. Try out the experimental feature.

Optimize Figma Design for Qt for MCUs
Enhanced guidelines for creating Microcontroller-friendly UI
With Qt Design Studio 4.6, we added MCU mode to the Qt Bridge for Figma. This feature lets you check if your Figma project is compatible with the Qt Ultralite (QUL) runtime. It automatically disables unnecessary export options and warns you about unsupported elements during selection and export.
In Qt Design Studio 4.7, the warnings and guidelines have been enhanced to provide more support. Now, when users hover over error messages, they will see frequently asked questions (FAQ) related to those messages. This feature assists users in utilizing only supported elements while designing the user interface and offers guidance on optimizing designs for Qt for MCUs.

Bring in Custom Shaders
Meet our integrated Text Editor in Effect Composer
The Effect Composer is a powerful and versatile tool for crafting stunning visual effects. With the recent enhancements in Qt Design Studio 4.7, users now benefit from an integrated text editor, allowing for even greater control over their creations. This exciting update enables you to seamlessly integrate and edit shader code from third-party sources, providing high flexibility in your creative process. It’s particularly beneficial for those with a background in shader programming, ensuring that your artistic vision comes to life. To learn tricks to utilize Shadertoy and other shader resources, check out the documentation!
The Effect Composer has now officially transitioned out of its beta phase, demonstrating its preparedness for professional implementation.
No Need To Be Connected
Starting from Qt Design Studio 4.7, we incorporated the add-on libraries you have previously been downloading when you compile the exported project in IDE like Qt Creator. Not anymore. Now, Qt Design Studio adds the needed libs by default, so the whole transfer from Qt Design Studio to developer IDE can be done without a network connection.
Other Improvements
- CMake Generation: Now, the export is enabled by default and, the CMake files are automatically updated. Many issues and corner cases have been fixed, and multiple warnings for potential issues have been added. This FAQ describes the most common problems with projects created in older Qt Design Studio versions. All example projects have been updated to the new project structure. Our documentation provides more details on this feature.
- Windows Crash Logger: We fixed issues with the Windows crash logger. In many cases, the crash dump became too large and could not be handled by the backend.
- Better Mask Handling in Qt Bridge for Figma: Significant improvements have been made in how masks are interpreted and handled. This ensures that designs using masks in Figma are accurately represented in Qt Design Studio 4.7.
- State View Order and Figma Variants: The order of states in the State View now matches the order of Figma variants, providing a more intuitive and consistent experience when working with state-based designs
- Bug Fixes: Our change log contains more detailed information on the update, including small improvements and bug fixes.
