Qt Creator 4.12 RC released

We are happy to announce the release of Qt Creator 4.12 RC!

Get Qt Creator 4.12 RC

The opensource version is available on the Qt download page under "Pre-releases", and you find commercially licensed packages on the Qt Account Portal. Qt Creator 4.12 RC is also available under Preview > Qt Creator 4.12.0-rc1 in the online installer. Please post issues in our bug tracker. You can also find us on IRC on #qt-creator on chat.freenode.net, and on the Qt Creator mailing list.

qbs still crashes in the macOS build. It was the same in beta 2, making these versions unusable with any qbs projects. I brought this up in the chatroom about a month ago. See QTCREATORBUG-23836

Thanks for reporting this. Is it possible that your QTCREATORBUG-23836 duplicates QTCREATORBUG-23746 and will be fixed by https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/qt-creator/qt-creator/+/296484 ?

Another cause for crashes in Qbs was not fixed in the Qt Creator RC, but will be fixed in the final release: https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/qbs/qbs/+/296210

This build should contain the latter fix: http://download.qt.io/snapshots/qtcreator/4.12/4.12.0/223/ Could you give it a try?

Thanks for the link. This version works fine for me.

P.S. The installer experience is quite horrible, at least for someone used to simply dragging things from the DMG to the /Applications folder ...
