We just released the Qt Creator 3.0 release candidate, together with the Qt 5.2 release candidate. We have been doing a lot of bug fixing since the beta release, and think that Qt Creator 3.0 is now relatively close to what we would like to release as the final. So we would really like you to have a try and report remaining issues that you find. Please use our bug tracker at bugreports.qt-project.org for that, project "Qt Creator", the best fitting component, and "Affects Version: 3.0.0-rc1".
If you are interested in what the new features in 3.0 are, please head over to the beta release blog post, or have a look at the (not yet complete) change log.

Unfortunately Qt is failing to build with MinGW. qtwinextras fails miserably.
I'll try with MinGW-w64 if it works.
If you ask me, i would not say that QtC 3.0 is close to release. My bugtracker's dashboard is full of bugs. I can report even more, but most of them are ignored.
ShiftZ: Please report whatever bugs you have. We do read all reports, even if we do not comment immediately.
Are you building Qt Creator with QTNOEFFECTS? Qt Creator tooltips are now sliding instead of fading on Windows 7.
Qt Creator on windows 32 need Graphics driver to be installed, if that's not installed, then the qt creator will crash/terminated in a silence way.
Depending on how Qt is compiled, we now require a working OpenGL driver or DirectX/DirectDraw being installed.
The binary packages use DirectX/DirectDraw as a backend, and so far we only know about issues on Windows XP (not supported any more) and in virtual machines (where you've to explicitly enable Direct3d rendering). Please file a bug if you have another configuration where it doesn't work.
Qt Creator 3.0 has the opportunity of becoming the first truly usable version of Creator in the sense that, at the very least, it will not contain obvious bugs or idiosyncrasies that one runs into during a regular user session. In my view, all it takes for Creator to actually be there with this release are a few minor tweaks, probably a couple of hours' worth of work, and i just want to list them here maybe someone will have the time to fix them before the 3.0 final release:
I have a number of other open bugs and suggestions, but those would probably require a bit more work, so i'm just listing these three ones here because they are so easy to implement and i believe they'd make quite a difference to the overall usability of this product
All the best to you all, you guys are doing a...
Unfortunately still experiencing some serious lag in this version (first saw in 3.0 beta). It looks like it's happening because the code model is reparsing everything when it shouldn't be.
This usually gets triggered with f4 or f2 follows and then returning to the original piece of code I was on.
I build from source in ubuntu 12.04.
Oh, and the file i'm switching to and from with f2 or f4 needs to be open in another split at the same time.
Can you please create a bug report on bugreports.qt-project.org, project "Qt Creator", category "C/C++ support", so we can try track that down?
Done.
Thank you:
