We are pleased to announce that Qt and Nokia’s MeeGo Devices group have agreed to take up joint platinum sponsorship of Akademy 2010, the annual world summit of the KDE community.

The decision extends a relationship between Qt and KDE events that dates back to the very first open KDE event, Kastle 2003.

Akademy 2010 is happening in Tampere, Finland from July 2 to July 10. It kicks off with a two-day conference focussing on the latest free software technologies and is then followed by five days of coding sessions and workshops.

It gives extensive learning, sharing and networking opportunities and will be attended by some of the best and brightest from the worlds of free software, software development, education, government and more.

KDE is an international community that creates free software for desktop and portable computing. KDE offers hundreds of software titles that run natively on Linux, BSD, Solaris, Windows and Mac OS X.
